Poweshiek County Extension to host pasture renovation session

MONTEZUMA, Iowa ― If pasture renovation is top of mind for you this winter, make plans to attend a session in Poweshiek County dedicated to that topic on Jan. 24. Iowa State University extension beef specialist Patrick Wall will lead the session, set to begin at noon with lunch and run through 2:30. Location is Meyer Seed, 5204 Hwy 63, Montezuma.

Topics include fertilization, week control, interseeding and legumes, and fescue management. There is a $5 registration fee, and people are asked to register by Jan. 22 either by emailing Cathy Lents or calling the Poweshiek County extension office at 641-623-5188. Directions to Meyer Seed: In Montezuma, travel south on Highway 63 for four miles and Meyer Seed will be on the right.
